Yummy Yeast Bread
1January 20, 2013 by Carole
Not only am I having a blast working on the Mucking Mom’s blog, but I’m loving the new world that has opened up by reading similar blogs. This could totally be my new “time sucker”. Yesterday, I came across a really easy (meaning, even I can do it) recipe for yeast bread. Our awesome fellow blogger at http://mywrongcentury.wordpress.com has posted a yeast bread that is perfect next to a good bowl of soup. She, so generously, has agreed that I can repost her recipe. To check out her entire post go to http://mywrongcentury.wordpress.com/2013/01/15/perfect-bread-for-soup/. And, stay tuned to the Mucking Moms. I’ll be posting the best vegetable soup recipe ever, and pictures of my bread creation!
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp yeast
3 cups flour
1 to 2 Tbs salt
1 1/2 cup water
Mix all the ingredients and let sit in a warm spot overnight.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and, at the same time, let your dutch oven get warm. Knead your dough (just a little) and form into a ball. Put it in your warm dutch oven and let it rise about 30 minutes. Stick it in the hot oven for 30 minutes with the lid on, and 15 minutes with the lid off. Let the bread cool before you cut into it, and enjoy!!!
I usually shy away from yeast breads, but this one seems so easy that I can’t resist it. Pictures to come soon!!
We are waiting on the best soup recipe ever.
