Happy Earth Day

I spent Earth Day at one of my favorite places, St. Joseph’s Center of Arkansas in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  I enjoy volunteering here about once a week.

We invited 2nd and 3rd graders out to make a planter for Earth Day.  We made planters out of plastic bottles and planted them with lettuce.  We recycled the top half of the plastic bottles.

The kids had a great time playing in the dirt, visiting the cows and chicks, and running around in the sunshine!

If you are around Arkansas you should stop by and check out the center.  They will be having a farmer’s market and a pumpkin patch!
