Lessons learned in the garden- Flowers
2September 16, 2014 by Buffy
Another lesson we learned this Summer. flowers make the vegetable garden a happier place to work.
We have grown sunflowers in the garden before, but this year we added a trough of zinnias.
Their bright blooms made me smile every time I saw them. Not to mention the bees loved them and bees are a gardener’s friend. I clipped the dead flower heads to save seeds for next Summer’s garden. We will be adding more sunflowers and zinnias next year. Do you have flowers in your vegetable garden?
Check back to see what else we learned in the garden this year.
I too plant sunflowers, marigold and zinnia around my garden as well as one hibiscus and it’s such a treat to weed while seeing the beautiful flowers!!
I plan to add more zinnias next year. I may try some marigolds too! I hear bugs hate marigolds! I could use some help against the bugs!
