Meet Prince Charming!
7December 31, 2014 by Buffy
We have had a productive year with our backyard flock! With my Mother’s Day incubator, we have tripled our backyard flock which makes me very happy. I wasn’t sure I could tolerate having a rooster crowing at dawn, but I have survived. I would be happier with King George if he would actual wait until sunrise to crow instead of crowing at the first light to come on in the house. He is such a handsome fellow. I forgive him most days.
He also produced this beautiful blue hen. Isn’t she pretty?
Check out our next generation rooster, Prince Charming. He is the son of King George.
He is as handsome as his father. I’m looking forward to lots of cute little chicks this Spring. We hope to add a pair of heritage chickens to breed in 2015.
Pretty birds! My husband’s Christmas incubator just arrived so we will be switching it on in the next couple of days. Looking forward to adding to our flock like this!
Good luck with your new incubator! It is a lot of fun. And there is nothing cuter than baby chicks!
aww, he’s handsome and I love that hen. She’s beautiful! I’m hoping to hatch some of my own eggs this spring. Hopefully I’ll get as pretty a hen as yours!
Thanks! I’ve never had a blue hen. I am just in love with her color!
We LOVE our incubator too…our next step is keeping one of the roosters we have hatched to fertilise our own eggs…only thing we are not keen on is the dawn (or pre dawn!) crowing…we will see! Happy New Year! =)
You have gorgeous and happy looking chickens, I look forward to reading more.
Thanks for stopping by!
