Chocolate Gravy and Biscuits on a snow day…

Chocolate gravy and biscuits are a favorite with my kids, especially on a snow day like today.

1 cup of sugar

3 Tablespoons of cocoa powder

3 Tablespoons of all purpose flour

2 1/2 cups of milk

1/2 a Tablespoon of butter

Mix all together.  Stir over a medium heat until it boils.  (This takes a while, hang in there!)  Serve over warm buttered biscuits.  This makes a toasty warm start on a cold morning.   It is also our family’s traditional Christmas breakfast.

    Any excuse for chocolate!

OMG I haven’t thought of biscuits and chocolate gravy in a while, and I haven’t had it since 1986-7 I think. My mom would be very vague about how to make it whenever I asked. Thanks for posting this — I can now give this experience to my son!
