So here in Arkansas we are experiencing an extremely wet Spring. A knee boots needed to go to the garden, Spring and you might get stuck in the garden kind of Spring.
None of my plants are thriving with the continual rain, clouds and cool temperatures. My lettuce melted. My pepper plants have yellow leaves. My eggplant’s leaves all dropped off and it died! My okra was washed away.
As I searched the garden for any bright spot, I did find a few sugar snap peas.
I also found a few green beans starting to climb their fence.
The squash is hanging in there. I expect to have blooms on some of them in a couple of days.
My cauliflower is starting to head.
I also found my garden nemesis- the Colorado potato beetle enthusiastically eating my potato plants!
Boy, this gardening thing is really tough with weather and pest fighting you at every turn. No wonder that first tomato tastes so sweet. (I’m not even going to show you my drowning tomato plants. It is too sad.) How is your garden growing?
