2016 Garden is producing!

I know it’s been a while, but I’m back with a garden update! We have been eating romaine lettuce, broccoli, snow peas, and squash for several weeks now. Actually my snow peas are on their last leg the heat is getting to them.
My broccoli was the most beautiful and tasty I have ever grown, but it too is done. Time to pull them up and drop something new in that space!
My beautiful romaine lettuce has been tasty. If only I could get my lettuce to not bolt, so I could have lettuce and tomatoes at the same time. Anyone have any good suggestions for Summer lettuce?
My first round of zephyr squash has produced lots of beautiful two colored squashes. It is starting to look a little tired.
Never fear running out of squash because I have many more new ones planted.
I’ll show you the rest of my garden tomorrow! How is your garden growing?
Looks great!! I stagger my lettuce with a first planting in early spring and I’m ready to start my second planting this week and then will do two more one in July and one in August to have fresh lettuce all through the summer. Not sure if that will work for you but worth a try!! Glad to see you back! Tina
Thanks, glad to be back! What kind of lettuce do you plant?
I plant Romaine, buttercrunch, red leaf and iceberg lettuce.
Your garden looks great. Keep on planting lettuce and squash so you might have enough to share. Fish taco looked good. I tried fish taco and was surprised at how good it taste.
Everything looks great! I’ve only been able to harvest strawberries and lettuce! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks! I’m jealous of your strawberries. That is what I want to add next year!
I’m curious about the lettuce, too. Mine always bolts quickly and I would love a fresh BLT in the summer. I’m amazed at how much you have growing. Did you not have the weeks and weeks of rain we did up here?
We had weeks and weeks of rain too, and I have grown an enormous amount of weeds from it. I just stuck something in the ground every time got a chance. If only I could grow veggies as quickly as I grow weeds! Yes! We really must figure out lettuce! Maybe our friend P. Allen Smith will have some pointers next week!
